All-New Joomla! 3.5 is Here

Joomla is a leading content management system developed by the open source community. With more than 50 million downloads and counting, the open source CMS has been gaining immense popularity in the recent years. The most recent release from Joomla.org is the Joomla! 3.5. It is the latest in the Joomla! 3.x series and the new release introduces 34 new features for the developers. Support for the advanced PHP 7 scripting language is a noteworthy feature. With the new release, Joomla! 3.5 developers can make the best use of these new features, thereby reaping a performance improvement with their website.

Email updates notification plugin of Joomla! 3.5 is another feature worthy of mention. It checks for the Joomla updates and bug fixes periodically and then sends an email notification to administrator. A new statistics collection plug-in found in the latest release collects raw data about the system environment in use. But before sending out, the data is anonymised.   • It let you add switches to the mod_status module in order to show/hide links for the front-end and back-end of website.

  • Article counts:
  • A set of updates that enables the visual presentation of published, unpublished and trashed articles in the Category Manager for articles, banners, contacts and newsfeed.

  • Random Category blog and list order:
  • This update answers a common user request for creating a random ordering option for articles present in the blog category and category list view.

  • Editor Buttons added to the Toolbar:
  • With the new update, editor extension buttons will find its place in the toolbar. So, you don’t have to scroll down the page to find the “read more” or “insert image” buttons.

  • Easily Insert Modules in Articles:
  • Users can add a module into an article easily with this button on the editor toolbar. You no longer need to learn any syntax or remember the module details.

  • Drag and Drop images:
  • Adding images to the website is easier like never before. This works anywhere that you are using the default TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor.
